Please note that all student-athletes MUST have a current Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) pre-participation physical exam certification  on file in Dempsey Middle School/Delaware Hayes High School's athletic office prior to tryouts or participation in any interscholastic sport.

Specifically, OHSAA Bylaw 3-4-1 requires that Athletic participation forms for participants in grades 7-12 shall be signed by a medical examiner (i.e., physician, advanced nurse practitioner or physicians assistant), the participant and by a parent or guardian.

 EXCEPTION:If the pre-participation athletic evaluation is conducted between May 1 and June 1, the evaluation, signed by the medical examiner, is valid for one calendar year.  school year.







Rutherford B. Hayes High School is proud to be the home of the Pacers. Delaware Hayes competes in the Capital Division of the Ohio Capital Conference.

Spring Athletic Meeting for all parents and athletes in the Delaware Hayes Auditorium.

Wednesday, MAY 8th - 2:45 "College Recognition Day" at Delaware Hayes High School

Tuesday, MAY 21st - Delaware Hayes High School Sports Physicals evening
This event is for the student who wants to participate in OHSAA athletics in grades 7th  - 12th. between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00pm in the High School's Commons and Main Gym.
Cost: $15 (All proceeds benefit Delaware City School's Athletic Training.



PAY TO PARTICIPATE In an attempt to offset transportation fees and adviser cost, a pay to participate fee will be attached to all extra-curricular and co-curricular programs. Fees for student athletes will be $35.00 per athlete, per sport at Delaware Hayes High School and $25.00 per athlete, per sport at Dempsey Middle School. Athletic fees for High School student athletes must be paid directly to the Delaware Hayes High School Athletic Office. The hours for paying the athletic fees are Monday - Friday 8:00am -11:30am and 12:30 - 2:30pm.

Athletic Fees must be paid before an athlete can participate in a scrimmage, preview, or game.

Dempsey Middle School student athlete fees will be paid at Dempsey Middle School.

FALL SPORTS: Cheerleading, Boys and Girls Cross Country, Football, Golf, Boys and Girls Soccer, Girls Tennis, and Girls Volleyball.

WINTER SPORTS: Boys and Girls Basketball, Club Boys and Girls Bowling, Girls Gymnastics, Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving, and Wrestling.

SPRING SPORTS: Baseball, Softball, Boys Tennis, Boys and Girls Track & Field, Boys Volleyball, and Club Boys and Girls lacrosse.

2012-2013 SEASON SPORT PASS PACKET

Starting Wednesday, August 1st, the Delaware Hayes High School Athletic Department will sell Athletic Season Passes for all high school and middle school athletic home events. (This pass does not admit you into tournaments.) These passes are for the purpose of admitting elementary, middle, high school age children, parents, guardians, and friends of Delaware City Schools Athletics to home high school and home middle school athletic events. Athletic Season Passes may be purchased in the Hayes High School Athletic Department Office between the hours of 8:00a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. beginning August 1st.
