Delaware City Schools...Achieving Excellence and Honoring Tradition in all that we do
This week we were made aware of a data breach involving PowerSchool, the provider of our Student Information System (SIS). This breach does impact Delaware City Schools as well as schools across the United States and internationally. At this time, we are actively investigating this issue to determine how it impacts our district. We are in communication with PowerSchool and META (our A-site) to gather more information and ensure appropriate measures are taken.
According to PowerSchool, the data that may have been compromised includes family and educator information. Delaware City Schools does not maintain social security numbers or financial information in our student information system so that information would not have been affected. PowerSchool has indicated that the breach has been contained and the system’s security has been restored.
PowerSchool continues to investigate this situation, and we will provide further updates as more information is shared with us. Please know that the security of our data is of the utmost importance to us, and we will continue to work with all vendors to ensure the highest standards for data privacy.
