First-generation college student. Open to all high school senior, undergraduate or graduate students. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident.
Being the first in your family to attend college is an inspiring feat, often with its own unique challenges. First-generation students may not have the same guidance in navigating parts of the higher education system as other students, such as the application process, obtaining financial aid, and even what to expect in college itself.
Financial constraints can also be a significant roadblock for such students, which may limit their choices, force them to balance jobs, family responsibilities, and school work all at once, and make the college experience much more stressful.
Despite these struggles, first-generation college students have proven time and again to be extremely resilient, determined, and hard-working. They embody a spirit of ambition and perseverance as they work toward creating the future they want for themselves and their families.
The First-Gen Futures Scholarship aims to recognize and support exceptional students who are overcoming the barriers of being the first in their families to attend college. By providing financial assistance to deserving individuals, we seek to alleviate some financial stress so that these students can focus more on their studies.Award Amount: $1,000

The competition for the Coolidge Scholarship is significant -- only a few new Coolidge Scholarships are awarded each year from a pool of candidates that spans the entire country. Even so, students have reported to us in past years they were glad to have applied even if they didn’t win because the experience helped prepare them for college applications later on. Furthermore, the Coolidge Foundation invites one hundred of the top Coolidge Scholarship applicants to participate in the Coolidge Senators Program, which includes an all-expenses-paid summit gathering and a $1,000 scholarship. Scholarship applicants are automatically considered for the Senators Program.
Please know that the application requires that candidates read President Coolidge’s Autobiography and a few other reading assignments, and then write three essays. We therefore encourage students to begin the application early.
The Coolidge Scholarship is an annually awarded, full-ride, presidential scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study.
This one-of-a-kind scholarship may be used at any accredited college or university in the U.S.
Deadline: The submission deadline is 5:00 PM Pacific time, Thursday, January 18, 2024.

ADHDAdvisor.org Quarterly Mental Health Scholarship for Women
Women who prioritize their mental health. Open to all high school senior, undergraduate or graduate students. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident.
The Mental Health Scholarship for Women is a quarterly award for student women who recognize the importance of mental health and prioritize it while attending college.
College students often maintain hectic schedules filled with rigorous classes, mountains of homework, and even jobs to support themselves while attending school. We further recognize the unique challenges women face in their pursuit of education, and we hope to support and empower those committed to their mental health as they push forward with their educational goals.
As women keep up with their academic responsibilities, extracurricular activities, social lives, and personal growth during college, their mental health can be heavily affected. Research shows that female college students experience higher rates of anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues when compared to male peers. The pressures of society, high expectations of women, and the financial stress of tuition and living costs can affect women’s mental health.
We believe that mental wellness is needed for academic success and personal development, and we hope to give student women financial help to alleviate stress and allow them to continue to prioritize their mental health throughout college.

Mothers are a force that shapes generations. They nurture and guide children through their lives, giving them the support and encouragement they need to set and achieve goals. Many mothers sacrifice pursuing their education or postpone it in favor of other endeavors, such as taking care of their children or taking on work in order to financially provide.
At VeryVery, our mission is to make mothers’ lives easier. We know that education is a powerful tool for personal growth, empowerment, and making a difference in the world. The impact of educated mothers extends far beyond their immediate families. They contribute to the workforce, economy, and local communities, often becoming community leaders, advocates, and role models. These women have a ripple effect, and their accomplishments radiate positive change throughout their communities. However, attending college requires a heavy time and financial commitment, making it difficult for mothers to obtain a degree.
The Empowering Motherhood Scholarship acknowledges the unique challenges that mothers face when seeking to further their education—juggling between family duties, jobs, attending classes, and completing school assignments. This scholarship is a dedicated effort to provide a stepping stone for these remarkable women, recognizing that their personal and professional growth serves as an example to their children and contributes to the growth of future generations.
The Empowering Motherhood Scholarship is a recurring scholarship open to all mothers who are or will soon be attending college. The next deadline to apply is February 1st, 2024 and winners will be announced on February 29, 2024.
Award Amount: $1,000

Chuck received his B.S. in Secondary Education and an M.A. degree in Guidance and Counseling from Miami University and worked in the Office of Financial aid. He also served in the US Air Force as a Russian Linguist. Chuck’s passion was working with high school students and advising them on their future opportunities.
