Frequently Asked Questions
Why did the board place the levy on the ballot?
The district is operating on the same amount of money for permanent improvements as we were in 1989 (approximately $2 million annually). Over the past 35 years, not only have costs risen significantly for routine maintenance projects, but we have added 2 school buildings to our district (Schultz and Dempsey) and multiple additions at other buildings. Our bus fleet has grown significantly to accommodate student growth, requiring additional bus replacements each year. In addition, technology which was nearly non-existent in 1989 has become integral to the learning process, requiring student and teacher devices as well as infrastructure to support the learning.
