Full Day (1-60 days): $150.00
Three Quarter Day: $112.50
Half Day: $75.00

The current pay rate for substitute teachers is $150.00 per day. Substitute teachers do not need a post-secondary degree. Delaware City schools does utilize substitute teachers with the temporary Non-Bachelor's Substitute Teaching License. This allows applicants who do not hold a post-secondary degree, but meet the employing school or district’s set of educational requirements, to serve in the role of a substitute teacher. Qualification Summary:
Minimum age of 21 with two years of driving experience.
Valid Ohio CDL license Class B or better with SP endorsement - Training will be provided to qualified candidates.
Must pass physical examination including drug and alcohol screening, agility test and background check
Acceptable driving record - no more than 6 points in the past two years, 0 points preferred, no OMVI.

Coaches: All coaches, including volunteers, must have a valid Pupil Activity Permit (PAP) issued by the Ohio Department of Education and be Board approved. Delaware City Schools will conduct a criminal records check for all applicants, regardless of the position, prior to recommendation to the Board of Education for employment. The applicable fee for this is to be paid by the applicant at the time the check is done. The cost for this is: BCI: $30.00 & FBI: $25 Total: $55.00. This fee is payable by cash or check. Credit cards are not accepted for payment.
