Peer Model Program

2026-27 School Year

Thank you for your interest in our Preschool Peer Model Program.  Our peer model program has reached maximum enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year.  The application for the 2027-2028 school year will open on or about October 1, 2026.

What is a Peer Model?

Peer models are typically developing children who serve as role models for their classmates. If you believe your child may have a developmental delay, please do not complete this application. Instead, contact Melissa Uher at 740-833-1116 for information about Child Check appointments.

Tuition

  • Current rate (2026-27): $175 per month / $1,575 per year
  • Rate is subject to change for the 2027-28 school year
  • Snack is not provided by the school

Payment options:

  • Online via PaySchools (student ID required)
  • Check payable to Delaware City Schools (include child’s name + “PreK tuition” in memo)
  • Mail or drop off checks to:

Please do not send payments with your child to school.

Program Location & Schedule

Woodward Elementary School – Monday through Thursday

  • Morning session (8:40–11:25 a.m.) → Primarily 3-year-olds and young 4-year-olds
  • Afternoon session (12:30–3:15 p.m.) → Primarily older 4-year-olds and 5-year-olds

General Peer Model Requirements

  1. Must be 3 years old by August 19, 2026.
  2. Must be fully toilet trained by the start of school in August 2026.
  3. Must be a resident of Delaware City Schools or a Delaware City Schools employee’s child (no open enrollment).
  4. Registration must be completed within two weeks of an offered placement. If not, the offer will be withdrawn and given to the next child on the waitlist.

Selection & Notification

  • Peer model spots are based on available openings and the date/time of application submission.
  • Peer model placement offers are communicated to families via the email address provided in the application, when space becomes available. The Peer Model Program is currently full for the 2026-27 school year.

Returning Peer Models

If your child is currently enrolled as a peer model for the 2026-27 school year, you do not need to reapply. Your child may continue in the program for 2027-28 if you choose. Please note that all tuition balances must be paid in full before classroom placement for the upcoming school year.
