2026-27 School Year
If you are interested in having your child considered as a peer model for the 2026-27 school year, please complete the application form at the link below.
Please note: This application places your child on the 2026-27 school year waitlist and does not guarantee a placement in our preschool program.
What is a Peer Model?
Peer models are typically developing children who serve as role models for their classmates. If you believe your child may have a developmental delay, please do not complete this application. Instead, contact Melissa Williamson at 740-833-1116 for information about Child Check appointments.
Tuition
- Current rate (2025-26): $175 per month / $1,575 per year
- Rate is subject to change for the 2026-27 school year
- Snack is not provided by the school
Payment options:
- Online via PaySchools (student ID required)
- Check payable to Delaware City Schools (include child’s name + “PreK tuition” in memo)

Program Location & Schedule
Woodward Elementary School – Monday through Thursday
- Morning session (*8:40–11:25 a.m.) → Primarily 3-year-olds and young 4-year-olds
- Afternoon session (*12:30–3:15 p.m.) → Primarily older 4-year-olds and 5-year-olds
*New hours beginning February 9, 2026 due to calamity days.
2026-27 School Year hours will return to:
- Morning session (8:45–11:20 a.m.) → Primarily 3-year-olds and young 4-year-olds
- Afternoon session (12:40–3:15 p.m.) → Primarily older 4-year-olds and 5-year-olds
General Peer Model Requirements
- Must be 3 years old by August 19, 2026.
- Must be fully toilet trained by the start of school in August 2026.
- Must be a resident of Delaware City Schools or a Delaware City Schools employee’s child (no open enrollment).
- Registration must be completed within two weeks of an offered placement. If not, the offer will be withdrawn and given to the next child on the waitlist.
Selection & Notification
- Peer model spots are based on available openings and the date/time of application submission.
- Families will be notified of acceptance by March 31, 2026.
Returning Peer Models
If your child is currently enrolled as a peer model for the 2025-26 school year, you do not need to reapply. Your child may continue in the program for 2026-27 if you choose. Please note that all tuition balances must be paid in full before classroom placement for the upcoming school year.
