Dempsey Middle School provides students the opportunity to broaden their learning through curricular-related activities.  A curricular-related activity may be for credit, required for a particular course, and/or contain school subject matter.
    The School has student groups that are authorized by the School.  It is the District’s policy that authorized groups are only those approved by the Board of Education and sponsored by a staff member. Authorized groups include:

    Curricular-related activities:

    • Art Club
    • French Trip
    • Geography Bee
    • Science Fair
    • Washington, D.C. Trip - 8th grade
    Extracurricular activities may not directly reflect the school curriculum, but are made available to students to allow them to pursue additional worthwhile activities such as recreational sports, drama, and the like.

    • Student Ambassadors 
    • Natural Helpers
    • Newspaper 
    • Spelling Bee
    • Student Council
    • Tech Club
    • Yearbook
    All students are permitted to participate in the activities of their choosing, as long as they meet the eligibility requirements.  Participation in these activities is a privilege and not a right.
