Volunteer Information

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with our schools. Delaware City Schools is fortunate to have the support of parent and community volunteers to enhance our educational programs. While we are continually grateful for our volunteers, we also need to ensure safe interactions for our students and staff.

The following volunteer guidelines and expectations will need to be completed prior to volunteering in our schools:

  1. Volunteers must complete the volunteer form each school year in which they wish to volunteer.
  2. Volunteers must complete and acknowledge the volunteer training (training video included below and in the form).
  3. Volunteers working in our buildings under the supervision of school staff (library volunteer, classroom volunteer, field day volunteer, guest speaker/reader, PTO volunteers, etc.) must sign in using the district's visitor management system.
  4. Volunteers who will be supervising students other than their own child on offsite field trips or overnight trips will be required to complete a more extensive background check. School staff will notify a volunteer if a background check is required and provide an online link to complete the background check.
