    Substitute Openings

    Substitute Teachers Needed:

    The current pay rate for substitute teachers is $125.00 per day.  Substitute teachers do not need a post-secondary degree.  For the 2022-2023 school year, the 1-Year Temporary Non-Bachelor's Substitute Teaching License allows applicants who do not hold a post-secondary degree, but meet the employing school or district’s set of educational requirements, to serve in the role of a substitute teacher.  More information on licensure is available through the Ohio Department of Education's Substitute Licensure Web Page.   
     
    The Ohio Department of Education will begin accepting applications for 1-Year Temporary Non-Bachelor’s Substitute Teaching Licenses Aug. 1.
     
     
    Classified Substitutes Needed:
    We are currently in need of substitutes for classroom assistants, administrative assistants and library media specialist assistants. This is a great opportunity to help serve our students.

    Substitute Custodians Needed:
    We are currently accepting applications for substitute custodians.   Substitute custodians work on an as needed basis to provide a safe, attractive, clean environment for our students and staff.  Training is provided.

    Special Openings:

    Bus Drivers Needed:
    We are currently in need of school bus drivers.   
    This is a great opportunity to help serve our students and community in our transportation department.  Extra hours are available.
     
    Qualification Summary:
    Minimum age of  21 with two years of driving experience.
    Valid Ohio CDL license Class B or better with SP endorsement - Training will be  provided to qualified candidates.
    Must pass physical examination including drug and alcohol screening, agility test and background check
    Acceptable driving record - no more than 6 points in the past two years, 0 points preferred, no OMVI.
    Good health, physical stamina, fitness and vitality.

    SACC Site Manager: The Site Manager is responsible for the safety and supervision of children; implementation of day-to-day activities; design and implementation of curriculum; and engagement, encouragement, and positive youth development for all participants. The Site Manager is also responsible for site-level management and coordination, including overseeing day-to-day operations, supervising Program Assistants, and providing leadership and professionalism in the field. Click Here to Apply

    Coaches: All coaches, including volunteers, must have a valid Pupil Activity Permit (PAP) issued by the Ohio Department of Education and be Board approved.  Coaches should work directly with the Athletic Directors to complete a coaching application and requirements for the PAP.  For more information on PAP requirements see: 
     

    NOTES TO ALL APPLICANTS:

    Delaware City Schools will conduct a criminal records check for all applicants, regardless of the position, prior to recommendation to the Board of Education for employment.  The applicable fee for this is to be paid by the applicant at the time the check is done.  The cost for this is:  BCI: $30.00 &  FBI: $25 Total:  $55.00. This fee is payable by cash or check.   Credit cards are not accepted for payment. Ohio law disqualifies individuals with certain criminal backgrounds from employment in certain positions in public schools and any offer of employment will be contingent on the results of a criminal background check. 

     All employment offers are contingent on background check results being acceptable and Board approval.
